Lane's goal as a bassist is also his motto: rock solid & pocket wise. His career has spanned more than thirty-five years and six continents, touring and recording with some of the best that Texas, the Mid-Atlantic and Colorado have to offer. He now resides in East Central Illinois, and is working on a new CD with his band Deeper Blues.
His work has been described as elegant yet powerful, a style that Grammy-nominated producer Peter Bonta calls "deceptively simple." A master of understatement, Lane's solos are lyrical without flash for flash's sake, a credit to his years of classical training. Then again, he'll totally tear it up when the time is right.
Lane is a Musical Ambassador for the Nation's Capital. He has also published numerous articles on the State of the Bass as he sees it. Currently he serves as Special Projects Coordinator for Eden Electronics, and has been an endorser for more than a decade.
